Anyone who knows me knows how embarrassingly obsessed I am with the Fox television show "Glee", but if its one thing I have stood by, it is my dislike for Lea Michele. Something about her just screams "I am an insufferable cunt!". I will not however, deny the effect her voice has on me.

I have been conflicted with this dilemma for a long, long time. Tonight, I have officially swayed to the other end of the spectrum. The following list is reasons why I can no longer deny my love for her.

1) she can sing ALMOST as well as Idina Menzel.
2) shes from New Jersey, which, I mean, that automatically means I am predisposed to like her.
3)

enough said. anyone who has ANYTHING negative to say about twilight has automatically endeared themselves to me.

New Favorite Thing: Rachel Zoe Project

This is my first entry in over a year I think. And its kind of sad/pathetic that it was RACHEL ZOE who inspired me to get back on the wagon.

I've seen a couple episodes of her show casually, on days when I should be doing other things like laundry or homework, but instead find myself drooling on the couch, eyes glued to anything on bravo..but never really got into the show!

Well....its epic! And by epic, I mean EPICALLY BAD. So bad in fact, that its mouthwateringly good.

Let me spell it out for you. We have one crazy, motherfucking batshit insane stylist, a gay husband (Roger), a bitchy entitled assistant (Taylor), and a gay bitchy entitled assistant (Brad)!

Now, I tried to look for clips on youtube to put here, because you really need to see for youself. Fortunately, Bravo is really great and takes everything down. Instead, I found a parody which is actually DEAD ON. The show is almost literally the same as this clip:

Famously, Bravo shows re-runs of all its shows mercilessly around the clock. There isn't a season on currently but the show is on all the time. YOU MUST WATCH!

luckily me and my fellow gossip whore friends were able to find a live stream of this so we were able to watch it in real time!

she had 2 other performances this weekend, one on the Bambi Awards in Germany, and another on Star Academy in France. XFactor is taped in England. this one was the best of the three. many fans, including myself feel like she really needs time to get her confidence back, and thats exactly whats happening. she breaks out of her shell here!

this morning on ONTD, someone posted a new song by M.I.A that is featured in the beginning scenes of the Indian independent film "Slumdog Millionaire". with a look at the trailer, it seems like the movie is pretty good! direction looks good, nice music (minus the overplayed Ting Ting's "Great DJ"), and the plot seems rivoting. ill have to find some way to see this. M.I.A's involvement certainly secures its credibility for me.

"Hobbit" Update

a few months ago, i posted about James McAvoy possibly being cast as Bilbo Baggins in a new Guillermo del Torro directed "Hobbit". that was complete crap and im sorry i led you on. anyway, new information was released from del Torro himself on details pertaining to the pre-production of the film. ill sum up the important parts here for people who are averse to reading articles, but you can go to comingsoon for the full thing.

* the casting wont be done until the writing for the script is completely done, because sometimes things are contradicted week to week, and alienating a fan base due to constant changes.

speaking of live variety shows, the latest vid to be making the rounds today is one of Justin Timberlake, Paul Rudd (<3) , and Beyonce on SNL. i watched the video, in part because i am a sucker for punishment, which really is what a JT or Beyonce video is. but, it was actually pretty funny! usually you can smell her ego from a hundred miles away, but she seemed pretty normal- good acting! of course JT had to make it all about him. anyways, i got some laughs and paul rudd is absolutely adorable, so im posting it! enjoy.

Although i havent watched in years, MadTV was always my favorite lazy saturday night guilty pleasure. i would have very heated arguements with people, including my parents about how it was WAY better than SNL. looking back, this probably wasnt true, but i have a unique sense of humor, and prefer low brow. perhaps the reason i stopped watching was because of my favorite actors that left- Aries Spears, Stephanie Weir, Nicole Sullivan, Michael McDonald, and Debra Wilson.

in case you thought bureaucracy didnt exist in the entertainment industry, well...youre an idiot. now, however you feel about gay relationships being on tv, there are some things that just aren't right.

for those who have watched greys for the past season, you know they have taken a new direction with two female characters. that direction led straight to weirdville last week, but regardless, television is a creative outlet, and a show should show something that feels realistic, although in theory you are watching something fake.

the actress who plays character erica hahn has been fired from greys anatomy. for no other reason than what show creator shonda rhimes has written for her character.

although the plotline is not something that everyone is going to be comfortable with, it seriously is not something you need to fire someone over. end the plot arc! television has been breaking down barriers and changing cultural mores for decades.

low, abc, very low. this show is on its way out. it used to be groundbreaking.

now, im nothing but jersey trash, BUT even i was insulted by what this girl wrote. im going to save you some of the aggravation by only posting a small excerpt.

ive known about Lady Gaga for a while, mostly because of JO. but it takes me a while to become a full blown aficionado on an artist, but once it starts, its quick and complete. ill know everything there is to know about the artist, where they are from, how they got their start, what their past material is, etc. Lady Gaga is no different. the turning point was seeing the Poker Face video. i hate music videos because alot of the time they have nothing to do with the song and the direction sucks, etc. but this video is sooooo different! it seems to go along with the song, the imagery and direction are great, and the song also, naturally, is awesome.

of course, there exists no official video on youtube, and even if there was, the embed would be disabled, so instead ill have to link you. i promise you. this video is worth a watch.

alright nevermind. i dont get why these record companies take artists videos off youtube! its like free advertising and publicity for them! o well. it was on her website as of last night, i physically watched it on there like 3 times and now its gone. maybe they strong armed her into taking it off? wtf! heres what im going to do. im adding lady gaga's blog (yes she updates her own blog) to my blogroll and its likely if the video is added back it will show up.

Check out this teaser trailer for the new Friday the 13th remake. Its supposed to have a 2009 release, and a full trailer will be released with Saw V when it comes out. From this clip, you cant really tell much about the movie, its too short.

you know what? im not opposed to remakes like this. i mean, look at what Rob Zombie did with the Halloween remake a couple years ago. granted, hes an amazing director, but Marcus Nispel did do a great job with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake in 2003. To this day, that remake remains one of my favorite horror films. I consider myself a horror movie buff, my favorite time of year being Monster Fest on AMC and i have seen all of the Jason movies (Jason Takes Manhattan being my fave). anyways enjoy the clip!

only the brits and some crafty americans have heard the b-sides before so this is exciting news for a huge fan like me (i refuse to illegally download music, which is why i havent gotten the b-sides). shes also releasing a new single, which is called "Rain on Your Parade". I embeded the music vid here for you guys to have a listen, but ill give you a quick rundown:

1. its more uptempo than most of her stuff, quite similar to the way mercy is.
2. she takes it a little far with her vibratto, furthering the theory that she is not, in any way, commercial. only a select few can put up with it, heck i barely can and im constantly championing her.
3. her attempts at any dancing in the video are pathetic, and further endear her to me.
4. i am not sure if this is a completely new song, or if it was a b-side on the brit album.
5. this is exactly what she sounds like live, which is either a good or bad thing depending on how you see it.

if there are any brits out there reading this, help a sister out! im too tired to research but id love a list of the extra songs so i can tell all of the yankees over here what to expect.

Tim Burton elaborates on Alice

a while ago i had posted about johnny depp staring in tim burton's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. naturally, burton being attached kind of certifies that there is going to be a given level of weirdness, but luckily, Alice is the kind of story where we expect MORE than a given level of weirdness.

once i learned that the movie would be filmed in that sort of weird, headache inducing half animation/half live action bullshit they did the Beowulf film in, i was a little worried. more than a little actually. as a die hard fan of weird, thought inducing movies i was excited to finally see a live action version of this weird, thought inducing story. so you can probably picture my disappointment of burton's reluctance to do a full scale live action.

this quote from him actually gives me a lot more perspective on his vision for the film:
“It’s a funny project. The story is obviously a classic with iconic images and ideas and thoughts. But with all the movie versions, well, I’ve just never seen one that really had any impact to me. It’s always just a series of weird events. Every character is strange and she’s just kind of wandering through all of the encounters as just a sort of observer. The goal is to try to make it an engaging movie where you get some of the psychology and kind of bring a freshness but also keep the classic nature of ‘Alice.’ And, you know, getting to do it in 3-D fits the material quite well. So I’m excited about making it a new version but also have the elements that people expect when they think of the material.”

im gonna follow this movie from pre-production through its release so expect alot of coverage.

apparently, director george miller thought it would be a good idea to once again cash in on one of Homer's classics- The Odyssey. naturally, Brad Pitt is in talks to star. here is where his idea goes a wry, because i for one, am not necessarily opposed to seeing pitt in a loin cloth, sweaty, and tan.

the new version of Odysseus's journey will take place in space people. really? your that unimaginative that you must resort to these gimmicks? how THE FUCK are they going to pull that off?

didnt this guy see Jason X? you know where they took a perfectly acceptable serial killer/monster who was content killing people on earth and brought him on some spaceship. it was a terrible idea.

youre going to be alienating all sorts of people here. (1) the people who saw Pitt in Troy are going to be very confused when they see that Achilles, who died in said film, is once again alive, but playing a character of a different name. (2) the people who are obsessed with all things space, ie Battlestar Gallactica, Star Trex, and Star Wars will be all "WTF this is blasphemy", and (3) all the people who appreciate the original epic poem and the art of Greek/Roman mythology are going to be like "WTF this is blasphemy".

just dont go there george miller. and why is it that the only people coming up with original screenplays these days are indie writers/directors? everythings a fucking book adaptation or a remake. from now on im sticking to the Sundance Channel and ifc.

i took away the little sources section of my site and instead am linking you to all my favorite artists myspace music pages. i want to help them in anyway get more exposure. there will be some big names on here along with some you will only know (likely) if your from europe (the UK specifically). also, i have some special notes on some of the artists:

1. Chromeo is re-releasing their "Fancy Footwork" album with new remixes of songs that were on the original album. their myspace features one of the remixes which is actually pretty good.

2. On Duffy's page, she has the audio from the Radio1 Live Lounge interview, which for Americans we were not previously able to hear.

3. Keane's album "Perfect Symmetry" came out today. i bought it on itunes and it (the deluxe version-$12.99) comes with some videos which i havent watched yet, and a bunch of demo versions of songs on the album. from what i can tell so far, i like the new sound. i see them taking a little bit of influence from the shins maybe? but they are still keane (aka pretty vocals and lots of piano). usually it takes me a couple weeks to really pick apart an album.

the musical legend that is Bjork teamed up with another musical legend (in fact more like a god)- Tom Yorke to produce a "rallying call" of sorts to help Iceland claim back its natural resources from big business. i dont know much about iceland, but i am sure its a beautiful country and i support their cause! anyways, im gonna link you to the stream if u want to hear it, but be forewarned its going to be taken down in the near future. thats because 100% of the proceeds from the song's purchase go to an Icelandic organization "Naturra" (the song shares the same name).

Anyways, the song is very good, very Bjork but also you can tell theirs Yorke's Radiohead spin on it. Only those innately familiar with OK Computer and beyond will pick up on it though.

Katy Perry, a second, make that third rate pop "singer", made famous by 13 year olds who feel the need to blast her songs during their sleepovers (the thought makes me lol because the parents are probly like "WTF") felt the need to bash LC and others from the hills. heres the run down:

I haven't really done this in a while, you know, post about an upcoming movie that i think looks good.

well anyways you cant look at any entertainment blog or publication nowadays without hearing about Anne Hathaway. i like her, generally, but i feel like people make her out to be something better than she is.

anyways, i decided to check out the trailer for her next release, "Rachel Getting Married", and it certainly looks like a movie id like to see. i dont know how you can write a review about a movie you havent seen yet, sooo...

the way that the movie is shot, at least from what i can deduce from the trailer, is sort of more like the way someone would shoot a documentary or a reality (real reality) tv show. not sure if this style is going to be reminiscent of what we saw in "Cloverfield" where people went running out of the theatre to throw up and were left with week long migraines.

the storyline isnt light and fluffy, like you would assume from a movie about a wedding, but that doesnt mean the performances wont be enjoyable! i kinda dig character driven plots.

i really cant stress to you guys how slow of a news week it has been. usually, there will be one or two days where i can kind of get more than 6 things to post about in a day, but this week? not so much.

anyways, getting to the point, im home for the weekend because i was supposed to help out with a garage sale, which was cancelled from the rain. SO instead of being at a party with my roommates, like a normal 21 year old, im at home. watching saturday night live. WHICH IS OK! because anna faris is hosting and duffy is the musical guest.

its not a usual thing when two of your favorite people converge on one television show in a mix of awkwardness and irony. anna seems stuck in her cindy campbell/jane f/shelly roles. but im not complaining. it was just weird everytime she introduced duffy..i really think she had no idea who duffy was. and i dont think duffy knew who anna was either. when they stood next to each other at the end i kind of like looked away because neither knew what to do. finally anna said something to her and kind of initiated a hug.

anyways- i dont usually watch snl but it was funny! im going to look for clips to put on here for everyone. or maybe just me.

i know i did all of that preaching yesterday about how talented duffy is and all that jazz, but i wasnt impressed with her performances on SNL. i think she was super nervous. she sung in a completely higher octave than she usually does. i saw her live, and she was great, but SNL is kind of on a completely different plane. i hope she didnt turn off potential new listeners.

Album of the Year:
Duffy- "Rockferry" and Britney Spears- "Blackout". as much as i love brit, i have to pull for Duffy on this one. she writes her own music and has true talent. lets be honest here people

Most Addictive Track:
Duffy's "Mercy" and Coldplay's "Viva La Vida". those two are listed by who i want to win and who i think will win, respectively.

New Act:
Obviously, Duffy is nominated, but then again so is Katy Perry, who makes me want to put my head through a wall. If duffy doesnt win, let it be either miley cyrus or onerepublic.

Act of 2008:
this category is a joke. i mean, i love amy winehouse as much as the next person, but she def doesnt deserve this award- not any more. i was pulling for her and was so happy when she won those grammys, but now? im sick of it. we are all enablers here. Britney doesnt deserve it either, because 2008 isnt her year- 2009 is. other acts in this category suck generally.

i omitted the rest of the categories listed because i have no interest in any of the nominees. why arent artists like M.I.A and MGMT and Radiohead nominated- artists who take creative risks and create such works of art nominated? to me, duffy is the only legit act who got recognized.

this morning perez reported that mr johnny depp is going to be reprising his role in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. is anyone surprised? i mean the way they left off the 3rd one it makes complete sense they would make another. hopefully, they revert back to the way the first one was done, because really it was the only good one out of the three.

the second and third movies had wayyy to many plot lines and too much switching around- it got confusing!

but thats not all! supposedly depp is signed on to play the mad hatter in an adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland". this is one of my favorite stories from when i was a kid and i really think he could do a good job. no doubt they will make the movie all trippy and weird but hey i wont be complaining. i heard rumors somewhere about who was going to play alice but im pretty sure its a no name actress, and i am happy they went that direction.

unfortunatley though, disney decided to use a similar technology to that of the one used to make the recent "Beowulf", which starred Angelina Jolie. I was really hoping they would use just regular live action, but beggars cant be choosers right?

in other movie news from the mouse house, we will see the release of a sequel to "Cars", which i am personally excited about, along with "Cars Land" at the Disneyland park in California.

* wallace shawn, pictured, will be featured on gossip girl as aaron's father. for those of you who have religiously read the books like me, this is ALMOST spot on casting. not sure how he will actually appear on the show, but hes def disgusting, they just need to make him fat. in the books, cyrus (name of said character) comes into the picture when blair's mother starts dating him, and they eventually marry. hence, aaron becomes blair's stepbrother, and cyrus blair's stepfather. we will have to wait and see what route they take, a completely different one or that of the books. either way, there will be some interesting dynamics introduced.

*the annoying cougar lady on gossip girl is set to be GONE by the end of episode 4. thank jesus. however, joshy left the door open for her return. dont make the same mistake you did with oliver! crazy love interests dont work will on ur shows buddy.

*gossip's cameras were all over fashion week because YOU GUESSED IT there will be an entire episode devoted to our faves at MBFW.

* three new people have been cast into seattle grace hospital, and they are pictured above- Janina Gavankar, Brandon Scott, and Kevin McKidd. The lady is introduced as a new intern, Brandon will play a "new mcdreamy" (yeah right), and Kevin is a former Iraq doc that has the hots for christina. Kevin was cast a while ago and will appear in the season premiere. its not clear as of now if these 3 will be permanent characters or what, i just hope they get rid of rose soon.

* click here to see a little sneak peek at the 2 hour premiere- a moment with christina and the new iraq guy. from what ive seen THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD. the 40 second or so clip was like eating one potato chip. I FRIKEN WANT MORE.

* ausiello, always the clever one, reports that two of the following things will happen in the episode. one will be a daydream of meredith's and the other actually happens. two things are completely made up: (1) rose will stab derek (2) derek has a heart attack and is visited by denny's ghost (3) burke returns, shoots derek in the face, and then turns the gun on himself (4) in a flashback, we learn that derek got into a car accident shortly after the whole candle thing with meredith.

im pretty sure 3 would never happen, although it would be damned good to watch, i can imagine meredith dreaming of rose stabbing derek, and 2 i think will def happen, as i have reported before that denny is coming back in at least one episode this season.

*for some unknown, godforsaken reason, the writers of greys feel the need to take a page from Lost and do some kind of weird flash forward sequence and show what two of the characters are up to in the future. this is unnecessary and i cant even see how it would fit into the show, and could create continuity problems for future seasons. the writers seem to be digging themselves into holes.

*i dont know how or why this is important, but people feel we should know that our friends at dunder mifflin have been blessed with a larger budget this year. god knows what michael will purchase. WAIT scratch that entire thing, i re-read it, and what they meant was that the show's production has a larger budget, so that probly means alot more scenes filmed outside of the office. heres to hoping that they film more on dwight's farm.

*as for news on jim and pam- im hearing somehting about some fake rain. make of that what you will, but i had an anticipatory squee when i read it.

*theres a new receptionist at dunder- and its a male character. (remember because pam goes to ny)

i found this song accidently, kind of. i purchased two 50 dollar albums from a UK radio station who has artists come in and do live recordings, and it came up on my shuffle.

the radio 1 live lounge version is absolutely exquisite but they dont have it on youtube. the regular version is alot faster, and still just as good, but they dont allow a fucking embed which infuriates me. like, im trying to spread ur music around and you block me from doing it.

brandi c left I Love Money tonight. i only watched the first half of the ep, but naturally i have my sources and found out who got kicked off before the bottom 3 were even chosen.

my "trashy idiot lunatic" void will soon be filled, however, as Charm School is only weeks away.

im praying they do a marathon of the first season, that shit was cinematic gold.

this box office shit keeps getting weirder and weirder. ill list you the top five with the rank it was predicted to have (along with the monetary amount) next to it in parenthesis.

1. burn after reading- 20 mil (3rd- 13.8 mil)
2. the family that preys- 18 mil (1st- 17.1 mil)
3. righteous kill- 16.5 mil (2nd-14.6 mil)
4. the women- 10 mil (4th- 9.8 mil)
5. the house bunny- 4.3 mil (8th- 3.9 mil)

a few notes i have on the subject:
1. the people who compile the lists of box office predictions seriously underestimated the power of pitt and clooney.
2. i saw burn after reading, and really, it wasnt that great. clooney and pitt were good, but a lot of the humor was over my head or something.
3. the whole top three is completely fucked up.
4. im loling that house bunny is still holding on to a rank. although these aren't the actually numbers, its still pretty cool that it beat the dark knight and tropic thunder. lol.
5. babylon ad and bangkok dangerous, both 2nd week movies completely fell off the charts, which is actually not at all surprising and quite comical.
