Spleenectomy!

the most talented actress ever, anna faris, stared in a cute little digital short called "Spleenectomy", which was directed by Kristen Smith. anyways, more importantly, i have the link here so you can go see it. its really funny, and she has this cute little son in it. she did the whole thing for this "Glamour Reel Moments" thing, and i dont have any idea what its about, but im glad i got to see the short since i knew about it from imdb.

the pic is her at the event.

also, there are RUMORS that she is lined up to play britney spears(?????why????) in a film adaptation of lynne spear's book. if u ask me this is complete bullshit. anna doesnt play serious roles, but she takes her career seriously and i dont think she would ever take a role that was sooo completely wrong for her. i dont know how credible this source is (showbiz spy), but i think this is a rediculous rumor.

SNL Recaps- 9-27-08

Finally got some stills of Anna Faris's appearance on SNL, you know since they dont allow youtube uploads and the didnt put any of her skits online. click under the cut. also i have a couple of duffy too since she was the performer for the night.

this is very image heavy so beware if you have a slow server or if ur stealing your neighbors internet.

^here anna played a stripper who motivated the club owner to stay open even though no one has money to pay for them (being the strippers). in the end they all agreed to work for .30 on the dollar.
here she played some kind of russian pop singer. i really wish they had a video of this one.
here in the last skit of the night, she wouldnt shut up about her ex boyfriend, driving her new one away. the final straw was when she said the bratwurst on the table reminded her of him.
one of duffy's photoshoot pictures. the only flattering one of her in my opinion. and its extremely airbrushed.
here she is being really nervous singing.
watch the awkwardness as it happens: (neither of these two know who the other is)

whatever, anna faris is the greatest person ever and duffy has the THIRD highest record sales for the year.

and lol at amy poehler's shirt- it says clay aiken on it.

Live from New Jersey its Saturday Night!

i really cant stress to you guys how slow of a news week it has been. usually, there will be one or two days where i can kind of get more than 6 things to post about in a day, but this week? not so much.

anyways, getting to the point, im home for the weekend because i was supposed to help out with a garage sale, which was cancelled from the rain. SO instead of being at a party with my roommates, like a normal 21 year old, im at home. watching saturday night live. WHICH IS OK! because anna faris is hosting and duffy is the musical guest.

its not a usual thing when two of your favorite people converge on one television show in a mix of awkwardness and irony. anna seems stuck in her cindy campbell/jane f/shelly roles. but im not complaining. it was just weird everytime she introduced duffy..i really think she had no idea who duffy was. and i dont think duffy knew who anna was either. when they stood next to each other at the end i kind of like looked away because neither knew what to do. finally anna said something to her and kind of initiated a hug.

anyways- i dont usually watch snl but it was funny! im going to look for clips to put on here for everyone. or maybe just me.

i know i did all of that preaching yesterday about how talented duffy is and all that jazz, but i wasnt impressed with her performances on SNL. i think she was super nervous. she sung in a completely higher octave than she usually does. i saw her live, and she was great, but SNL is kind of on a completely different plane. i hope she didnt turn off potential new listeners.

i guess i could be done boring you now with my thoughts. BUT one more thing. i found some more details on faris's boyfriend! see quote:
Faris is now in a relationship, the product of a friendship that blossomed into romance.

She reveals that her boyfriend is an actor but will not name him.

‘‘He's really proud of me, but he also seems like he couldn't care less, which is great,'' she says with a laugh.

‘‘I didn't stay off the market too long -- I found myself in a relationship fairly quickly. It was somebody I was friends with for a little while and I was always trying to hook him up with other girls.

‘‘It's awful that I know everybody he slept with and I helped him!''

weird that she would be so open with australian media...

i dont even know what to say about this.

this box office shit keeps getting weirder and weirder. ill list you the top five with the rank it was predicted to have (along with the monetary amount) next to it in parenthesis.

1. burn after reading- 20 mil (3rd- 13.8 mil)
2. the family that preys- 18 mil (1st- 17.1 mil)
3. righteous kill- 16.5 mil (2nd-14.6 mil)
4. the women- 10 mil (4th- 9.8 mil)
5. the house bunny- 4.3 mil (8th- 3.9 mil)

a few notes i have on the subject:
1. the people who compile the lists of box office predictions seriously underestimated the power of pitt and clooney.
2. i saw burn after reading, and really, it wasnt that great. clooney and pitt were good, but a lot of the humor was over my head or something.
3. the whole top three is completely fucked up.
4. im loling that house bunny is still holding on to a rank. although these aren't the actually numbers, its still pretty cool that it beat the dark knight and tropic thunder. lol.
5. babylon ad and bangkok dangerous, both 2nd week movies completely fell off the charts, which is actually not at all surprising and quite comical.

now THIS would be america's favorite couple.

although this is simply a speculative dream of mine, im hoping its true.

pictured are kevin connolly and anna faris. anna faris is pretty much my favorite person on earth and kevin connolly, well, im in love with him, or at least his character E on entourage.

these two worked together on 3 episodes of entourage and anna has said in interviews that he was her favorite to work with on the show. shes dating someone, an actor, but wont say who.

well, what was kevin randomly doing at a "House Bunny" party at Project Beach House?

(ps. i checked his wiki page and it doesnt mention him dating anyone else.)

Weirdest Box Office Ever

on friday i received my regular email from box office mojo about the box office predictions for this weekend. they read:

1. Bangkok Dangerous- 13.9 mil
2. Tropic Thunder- 9.2 mil
3. The Dark Knight- 8 mil
4. Babylon AD- 6.1 mil
5. Traitor- 5.9 mil

WELLL they were VERY WRONG.

HERE ARE THE box office estimates as of this sunday:

1. bangkok dangerous- 7.8 mil (phhhh..can you say BOMB)
2. tropic thunder- 7.5 mil
3. THE HOUSE BUNNY- 5.9 mil
4. the dark knight- 5.75 mil
5. traitor- 4.66 mil

although im thrilled house bunny came in at number 3 this weekend, i have to say, these numbers are unreasonably low. i think everyone spent there money to see Batman and dont plan on going back to the movies until Harry Potter comes out in 09. everyones just sick of giving their money to the box office.

i went to see house bunny with my roommates and some other friends on friday- there was like 8 of us i guess- and the theater was PACKED. i mean, people couldnt even find seats. it was so good to watch it in a full theatre because everyone was laughing, etc, etc.

heres somethin that really pisses me off..

heres your purported top five at the box office this weekend:

1. tropic thunder- for real? THIS movie is number one three weeks in a row? it made 11.5 mil, which tells you how really terrible the box office was this weekend. most times, a movie will make 4 or 5 times that when they are number one.
2. babylon ad- 9.7 mil (what even is this movie?)
3. the dark knight- 8.75 mil (im so over this movie. go away)
4. my beloved house bunny, which disappointingly made only 8.3 mil this weekend :(
5. traitor- 7.9

friday box office estimates

friday estimates for this weekends box office:

1. babylon ad- 3.1 mil
2. tropic thunder- 3.07 mil
3. HOUSE BUNNY- 2.6 MIL
4. traitor- 2.2 mil
5. the dark knight- 2.19 mil

im soooo happy that house bunny is able to at least keep a good rank, although these numbers are still REALLY low. ive never even heard of two of the top five movies.

for more info, check out boxofficemojo.

ps. i just checked imdb pro and anna faris is number three on the starmeter! this basically shows how popular someone is based on searches. as far as actresses go, shes number one on the star meter. seriously im so happy for her- hopefully she starts gaining respect she deserves in the industry. not for the haters

Anna Faris is by far my favorite actress, at least when it comes to comedies. she just has the best comedic timing.

anyways, everyones heard about her new movie coming out soon- The House Bunny. it certainly looks like its going to have a shiteous box office turnout, but ill def be one of the $10 mil worth of people who go!

click under the cut for a Q&A that was featured in Star magazine.

Q: How did you come up the the idea (for the movie)?
A: I was thinking three years ago about what happens in the next stage for a girl who has lived in the Playboy Mansion. How do you reenter the real world? I had a creative vision of who she was, so I pitched the character to writers Karen Lutz and Kristen Smith. They wrote a script and together we produced it. The next thing we knew, we were shooting at the Playboy Mansion!

Q: How did you prepare to play Shelley?
A. I worked out, and I got hair extensions and lots of padded bras! They had to do alot of body makeup to make my cleavage look bigger. It was great for me because I'm and jeans and T-shirt girl.

Q: Shelley's an outsider. Have you ever felt that way?
A: I definitely had issues in high school. I struggled with weight and still feel incredibly awkward at times, so it was kind of nice to play the pretty girl for a change!

Q: Whats the key to being a good comedic actress?
A: There can't be any vanity in comedy. It's challenging because you have to keep a straight face, but I feel really fortunate that I get to work in an environment where we are laughing all the time!

The House Bunny opens August 22nd. She looks GREAT for 30!
