Update on "Alice"

i have an update on the status on Tim Burton's latest project "Alice in Wonderland", of course starring Johnny Depp. Multiple outlets have release a picture of Depp as the Mad Hatter, as well as some of Alice.

go here and here for more info.

leave comments with your thoughts! i think depp is spot on as the mad hatter. brilliant. i like the look of old england and think this movie is going to be pretty legit.

something to get excited about

this morning perez reported that mr johnny depp is going to be reprising his role in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. is anyone surprised? i mean the way they left off the 3rd one it makes complete sense they would make another. hopefully, they revert back to the way the first one was done, because really it was the only good one out of the three.

the second and third movies had wayyy to many plot lines and too much switching around- it got confusing!

but thats not all! supposedly depp is signed on to play the mad hatter in an adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland". this is one of my favorite stories from when i was a kid and i really think he could do a good job. no doubt they will make the movie all trippy and weird but hey i wont be complaining. i heard rumors somewhere about who was going to play alice but im pretty sure its a no name actress, and i am happy they went that direction.

unfortunatley though, disney decided to use a similar technology to that of the one used to make the recent "Beowulf", which starred Angelina Jolie. I was really hoping they would use just regular live action, but beggars cant be choosers right?

in other movie news from the mouse house, we will see the release of a sequel to "Cars", which i am personally excited about, along with "Cars Land" at the Disneyland park in California.

for more details, dont go to perez, go to variety!

gossip gag

heres the dish- which id like to throw against the nearest wall and hear shatter into thousands of peices- theres going to be a "spin off" of gossip girl. this is being reported by multiple media outlets. people fail to realize, however, that josh schwartz is a genius- and hes not throwing the masterpeice that is gossip girl into the shitter by creating another show THIS FAST.

anyone whos read the books knows the story arc where jenny turns into a cunt and everyone hates her and wants her to go away. wait- thats also in the show....but anyways, she either has to repeat freshman year or go away to boarding school, hence you get your six or so It Girl books. theres where it should end people. these media outlets are proposing that jenny (taylor momsen) is getting a spin-off ala this arc. josh schwartz says "hell no" (in not so many words) and that the reports are "very very premature". he's "never saying never", but really- he is. everyone hates jenny. this is common knowledge.

so you can sleep tight gg fans,

xoxo

p.s. there was NO WAY IN HELL i was putting a picture of jenny up here.

can keira pull it off?

personally, i love keira knightly. shes one of my favorite actresses. the only role i ever hated her in was in Love Actually. anyways, the latest news is that she is to play the role of Eliza Dolittle in a remake of My Fair Lady. this has many people up in arms. alot of them do not want to see knightly reprising a role that was done so nicely by audrey hepburn (on screen) and julie andrews (on stage).

i have read the original play Pygmalion and have also seen a cheap high school version of My Fair Lady, and from that alone, i think keira will be fine.

lezhan has landed a job.

i know, i checked my calendar too to make sure it wasnt april fools day or something. dont get me wrong, ive been a lindsay lohan fan way back, since Freaky Friday, but even i was beginning to think it was over.

supposedly its a romantic comedy where linsday pretends to be pregnant in order to keep her job. sad thing is, ill probly go see it. their marketers better work some big miracles for this film, because anything with lindsay attached to it usually bombs at the box office. The film is called Labor Pains by the way. im going to assume its a rumor though until we have some production stills.

gossip girl update

god this is overdue. in some spoilerage from different gossip girl websites ive learned the following: DO NOT READ AHEAD IF U DONT WANNA KNOW

-dan and serena are dunzo.
-chuck and blair will be a recurring thing next season.
-michelle trachtenburg is not "set in stone" yet to come back as georgina, but there's def a good possibility.
-nate is with someone who is def not serena.

remember friends, all of this is subject to change, and networks have been known to send out false spoilers (foilers) to create buzz. who even cares, your gonna love it no matter what happens!

(ps isnt dan looking hot in this picture! i love his scruff..)

somebody read my blog!

well it sure SEEMS that way anyway...thebadandugly posted a sort of test question with reasons why narnia is doing poorly. i couldnt seem to narrow it down to just one answer because most of them seem likely. except for the one about christians:

NARNIA IS DOING POORLY BECAUSE:
A) It was sandwiched between Iron Man and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
B) It was poorly marketed and looked wholly uninteresting.
C) It had a veil of family-friendliness over it that turned off any non-children/non-Christian viewers (a medieval war movie without loads of blood? Who do they think they are, Lord of the Rings?)
D) It should have kept it’s original release date of Christmas 2007 and not tried to be a summer movie.
E) Marketing suffered when no catchy SNL Digital Short was released promoting the film.

the most exciting casting news EVER

i dont really like to put things i read on http://www.perezhilton.com/ here, because i assume you have all read it already. but lately, perez has been going DOWNHILL...except for today i almost jumped out of my seat at work because he had posted that there was a possibility of JAMES MCAVOY playing the part of Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit, which is supposed to come out sometime in 2010. those are two long years people.

i never dreamed of them using james for the part because when i read the book, i sort of pictured him being a little older, even though i know he isnt as old as in the LOTR series. it will def be interesting to see how he interprets the character, etc. i read the book way back in high school so i dont remember the exact story line, which will prob help me enjoy the movie better. i saw all of the LOTR movies and LOVED them, so i have a feeling this one will be good too.

lets hope they can solve all of the litigation issues they have been having with Tolkien's son. i REALLY wanna see this movie make it to the production stages..soon. with this bit of news, you can be sure ill be updating regularly. check out perez for a few more details and some quotes from peter jackson.

the funniest thing ive read all day

la lohan is still on lezwatch

"Michael Lohan, Lindsay’s non-reality-television-star parent recently told USWeekly that Samantha and Lindsay’s relationship is ” evident to anyone with half a brain.” Which means, we guess, that according to Michael Lohan, most of the media doesn’t have half a brain. Or, they could be dedicating their half a brain to something newsworthy, which is sometimes more than we can say for ourselves…"

this pisses me off

soo apparently, unbeknownst to me, natalie portman was supposed to play cathy earnshaw in the film adaptation of Wuthering Heights, but the bitch blew off the role last minute before filming began. she blamed this on "scheduling" conflicts.

actually, im glad. this is no role to be just giving away to anyone. wuthering heights is my favorite book of all time, and i ill be pissed if the movie sucks, even though theres already about 5867584 versions of it already. seems period peices are all the rage now. and you can give most or all of the credit to keira knightly. i tried finding some more information on the movie but did not prevail. however, i did find that Michael Fassbender (pictured) is in negotiations to play healthcliff, one of the main characters.

this is juice people. at least for me.

please excuse me..but im going to spam you with narnia stuff real quick

GASP

i have an unhealthy obsession with the chronicles of narnia. its just..they have such a handsome cast!

also i have little updates on everyone. believe me, it was soooo hard to pick just one picture of william moseley to put on here. make that two. i found all of these pictures at each of the actors fan websites.

ben barnes looks absolutley like a greek god, all drazzed up in his suit. william without any shirt! O.M.G IM DYING. even the girl who plays susan cleans up quite nicely! her eyes are quite striking. she has bad teeth though so im glad she kept her mouth shut in her picture haha. not sure why it came out so small though?
anyways...ben barnes has just been cast as dorian in the film adaptation of A Picture of Dorian Gray written by the gay playwright Oscar Wilde. im actualy reading it right now weirdly enough. oscar wilde has a way of really spinning language like its a song. just beautiful. cant wait to bring you more info of this.
as for my bb moseley, he claims he is being very selective in choosing his next role, and i could find no information on future projects.
anna popplewell, who plays susan is in a production of "spring awakening" at her college in the next week, which is oxford actually, pretty bitchin. i wish i went to oxford. this is not the trashy rock opera thats being played here in the states, but the original play which was written by a german author, and has been banned in britain for like 5o years or something like that. theres actually a rape scene in it *shudders* which must be awkward as hell to act. i give the girl some cred for actually going to college, acting in student productions, and balancing all this shit with narnia coming out right at the same time. i thought my life was busy.

this is just what i wanted to hear.

word on the street is, indiana jones SUCKS.

it made 4.5 mil on weds, which isnt bad for a mid-week early memorial day weekend opening.
i guess we will see how it does for the rest of the weekend but all of this bad buzz is great news for narnia and its weekend numbers. depending on how caspian does, it will determine the fate of the franchise and how many more of the movies they will do. im really pulling for them to make it all the way to the last battle, because i beleive that means peter pevensie will be back and gracing the screen again.
