Prince Caspian Update

its been a really long time since i posted about this. perhaps i overloaded and am almost at the point where i want nothing to do with it. key word: almost.

me and one of my roommates were laughing about anna popplewell, so i decided to see if there were any embarassing pictures on her site. i didnt get that far, because i saw a couple vids that are noteworthy.

something to get excited about

this morning perez reported that mr johnny depp is going to be reprising his role in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. is anyone surprised? i mean the way they left off the 3rd one it makes complete sense they would make another. hopefully, they revert back to the way the first one was done, because really it was the only good one out of the three.

the second and third movies had wayyy to many plot lines and too much switching around- it got confusing!

but thats not all! supposedly depp is signed on to play the mad hatter in an adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland". this is one of my favorite stories from when i was a kid and i really think he could do a good job. no doubt they will make the movie all trippy and weird but hey i wont be complaining. i heard rumors somewhere about who was going to play alice but im pretty sure its a no name actress, and i am happy they went that direction.

unfortunatley though, disney decided to use a similar technology to that of the one used to make the recent "Beowulf", which starred Angelina Jolie. I was really hoping they would use just regular live action, but beggars cant be choosers right?

in other movie news from the mouse house, we will see the release of a sequel to "Cars", which i am personally excited about, along with "Cars Land" at the Disneyland park in California.

for more details, dont go to perez, go to variety!

i dont even know what to say about this.

this box office shit keeps getting weirder and weirder. ill list you the top five with the rank it was predicted to have (along with the monetary amount) next to it in parenthesis.

1. burn after reading- 20 mil (3rd- 13.8 mil)
2. the family that preys- 18 mil (1st- 17.1 mil)
3. righteous kill- 16.5 mil (2nd-14.6 mil)
4. the women- 10 mil (4th- 9.8 mil)
5. the house bunny- 4.3 mil (8th- 3.9 mil)

a few notes i have on the subject:
1. the people who compile the lists of box office predictions seriously underestimated the power of pitt and clooney.
2. i saw burn after reading, and really, it wasnt that great. clooney and pitt were good, but a lot of the humor was over my head or something.
3. the whole top three is completely fucked up.
4. im loling that house bunny is still holding on to a rank. although these aren't the actually numbers, its still pretty cool that it beat the dark knight and tropic thunder. lol.
5. babylon ad and bangkok dangerous, both 2nd week movies completely fell off the charts, which is actually not at all surprising and quite comical.

Four Christmases TV Spot

although i find it kind of strange they have a tv spot before they have a trailer, im really happy to have something finally to attach to this movie.

click here to see it on youtube, they have disabled embeding for some reason. ill never understand that when it comes to commercials/trailers for movies and tv shows.

that shit is like free advertising!

anyways the movie looks entertaining, and so far i like the chemistry between reese and vince vaughn. two people u wouldnt normally place together.

Weirdest Box Office Ever

on friday i received my regular email from box office mojo about the box office predictions for this weekend. they read:

1. Bangkok Dangerous- 13.9 mil
2. Tropic Thunder- 9.2 mil
3. The Dark Knight- 8 mil
4. Babylon AD- 6.1 mil
5. Traitor- 5.9 mil

WELLL they were VERY WRONG.

HERE ARE THE box office estimates as of this sunday:

1. bangkok dangerous- 7.8 mil (phhhh..can you say BOMB)
2. tropic thunder- 7.5 mil
3. THE HOUSE BUNNY- 5.9 mil
4. the dark knight- 5.75 mil
5. traitor- 4.66 mil

although im thrilled house bunny came in at number 3 this weekend, i have to say, these numbers are unreasonably low. i think everyone spent there money to see Batman and dont plan on going back to the movies until Harry Potter comes out in 09. everyones just sick of giving their money to the box office.

i went to see house bunny with my roommates and some other friends on friday- there was like 8 of us i guess- and the theater was PACKED. i mean, people couldnt even find seats. it was so good to watch it in a full theatre because everyone was laughing, etc, etc.

heres somethin that really pisses me off..

heres your purported top five at the box office this weekend:

1. tropic thunder- for real? THIS movie is number one three weeks in a row? it made 11.5 mil, which tells you how really terrible the box office was this weekend. most times, a movie will make 4 or 5 times that when they are number one.
2. babylon ad- 9.7 mil (what even is this movie?)
3. the dark knight- 8.75 mil (im so over this movie. go away)
4. my beloved house bunny, which disappointingly made only 8.3 mil this weekend :(
5. traitor- 7.9

fall movie preview

just to keep everyone in the loop, i thought i would post about some upcoming movies to look forward to this fall. these are the movies i have the most likelyhood of seeing, although now that im back to being a struggling college student, who knows how much money ill have to throw around. that just means ill have to be extra choosey!

anyway, click under the cut for the list, release dates, and possibly trailers.

opening sept 12th is brad pitts latest film, which i posted about probly a couple months ago. "Burn After Reading" is a movie by the legendary Cohen brothers, and luckily, they lightened it up this time. the trailer makes this film look genuinley funny and enjoyable, although im not sure it enticing enough to get me to spend 10 dollars. def a movie i would rent though. i bet this movie gets a little award buzz too.

also opening the weekend of the 12th is meg ryan's latest- "The Women". this film also looks really good and i had posted the trailer for it quite a while ago. this movie has a better chance of getting me out to the theater to be honest- mostly because i love me some grace adler.

the only movie on this list i can safely say there is a 100% chance of me going out and paying to see is.....THE DUTCHESS. what can i say, keira knightly looking fierce and a fierce love story to go along with it.

the first weekend of october marks another opening of a movie i had posted about previously- and that is simon pegg and megan fox's "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People". this movie has good concepts, but really seems like something that should have a limited release.

also opening that weekend is "Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist", which honestly looks good but i think they are trying too hard to capitalize off of Juno's success. just call it my opinion. i love Kat Dennings but i wish mike cera could find another role to play that isnt the "shy wallflower nerdy" guy.

high school muscial 3 opens the weekend of the 24th, however im not sure im gonna go see it. my friends will probs end up dragging me, but its super hard for me to know my movie ticket will indirectly go to vanexxxa hudgen's pocket. even ashley tiz is starting to annoy me. im always up for a cheesefest though. this movie is sure to be a blockbuster- really the only one ive listed so far that i think will break the 100 mil mark within a week or two.

the weekend after, angelina jolie's drama "The Changling" opens. i dont see this making it big at the box office, since theres no scenes with her taking off her clothes, however she should win at all the major award shows as this will be a stellar performace from her (per usual).

im assuming this is thanksgiving weekend? but surprisingly, the november 26th weekend doesnt really knock my socks off. the only movie i think that looks slightly enticing is reese witherspoon and vince vaughn's "Four Christmases". and thats simply because i love reese witherspoon.

friday box office estimates

friday estimates for this weekends box office:

1. babylon ad- 3.1 mil
2. tropic thunder- 3.07 mil
3. HOUSE BUNNY- 2.6 MIL
4. traitor- 2.2 mil
5. the dark knight- 2.19 mil

im soooo happy that house bunny is able to at least keep a good rank, although these numbers are still REALLY low. ive never even heard of two of the top five movies.

for more info, check out boxofficemojo.

ps. i just checked imdb pro and anna faris is number three on the starmeter! this basically shows how popular someone is based on searches. as far as actresses go, shes number one on the star meter. seriously im so happy for her- hopefully she starts gaining respect she deserves in the industry. Update on Wuthering Heights Movie

Word on the street is that Keira was offered the role of Cathy Earnshaw after Natalie Portman had dropped, however Keira rejected it. Also the director has left the project.

will we ever get this film? i think they should find a no name to play the leading role.

click below the cut for the full article.

More problems for the big-screen adaptation of Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights. In May Natalie Portman, who was to play Cathy Earnshaw, pulled out because she didn’t think she could manage a Yorkshire accent. Now the film’s director John Maybury (centre), has quit, leaving the future of the movie in serious doubt.
It is not known exactly why Maybury, whose credits include the recent Dylan Thomas movie The Edge of Love, left, but the Daily Mail claims it was down to differences of opinion between himself and the producers over the script and cast (as reported on The First Post, Maybury was never keen on Portman taking the lead role). It seems the project had moved into a direction he was not happy with. In a recent interview, Maybury said that the producers initially wanted "a weird, dark version of the weird, dark tale", but it soon became apparent that was not the case.
The search is now on for a new director – and a new leading actress. Kiera Knightley was offered the part of Cathy after Portman left, but turned it down because she didn’t want to take on a role the American actress had dumped. Sienna Miller (pictured above with Maybury and Knightley at the premiere of 'The Edge of Love') was then approached, but she had other commitments.

Sorry this is overdue!

sisterhood of the traveling pants (2) premiere pictures!!! these are from the other day but i didnt have time to put them up. enjoy! all of them are via popsugar..please click through to see even more!

ed westwick looks HOTT
leighton is just gorgeous. she is the epitome of red carpet glamour.
seriously leighton and chace would make the most overwhelmingly good looking couple. like a younger jolie-pitt. too bad they broke up on the show!
kinda sad that leighton upstages blake at her own premiere! that orange dress is just kinda blah... i still love blake though shes fab too.

one question though? where the hell was penn? they freakin make out on every corner of the five boroughs and he doesnt show to her movie premiere? fishy...

well hey whaddya know

i had to mention popplehoe in a previous entry and then she popped up on my internet browser! that pun was totally intended.

i decided to check out what my bb moseley has been doing and i came across some pics from the premiere of Prince Caspian in Slovenia- wtf? are they premeiring this movie in every goddamn country?

well, if it means i get more pictures of will then fine. premeire it 1000 more times.
i had slim pickings of pictures to post, will just looks awkward in a lot of them. thats if you can take your eyes off of anna popplewells teeth and barf-worthy dress.
hes so handsome im so in love with him.

you know? i bet those two totally love each other. maybe thats why i hate her so bad, because shes probs gotten in his pants.

theres some other pictures where hes like holding an umbrella over her cause its raining and then hes like totally wet but he just wanted to make sure she was dry. soooooooooooooooooooooo cute.

ok now im just rambling. Read more!
